What to do if YooKassa rejected your shop

Common rejection reasons and a step-by-step fix for each. Most cases resolve in one or two days.

What you'll need

  • Rejection email from YooKassa or Rejected status in the dashboard

Read the email first

The rejection email always states the reason. The exact wording matters - "self-employed status not confirmed" and "insufficient activity data" are different fixes.

Reason: poor-quality documents

Symptom: the email says "passport unreadable" or "certificate expired".

Fix:

  • Re-shoot the passport in daylight, on a flat surface, no glare
  • Download a fresh KND 1122035 from Moy Nalog (generates instantly)
  • In the YooKassa dashboard - **Support → Reply to rejection → Attach new docs**
The registration certificate must be no older than a month. Download it just before sending.

Reason: activity not confirmed

Symptom: "describe what you sell in more detail", "activity type missing".

Fix:

  • In shop description, write fully: "Accepting voluntary donations from viewers of live streams on Twitch / YouTube / VK Play via the EchoTip service"
  • Attach screenshots of your EchoTip page and channel
  • If you have subscribers - state the count

Reason: shop already linked

Symptom: "an active shop already exists for this INN".

Fix:

  • Find the old shop - maybe registered long ago and forgotten. Login is recovered via Yandex ID
  • If the old shop is no longer needed - close it under **Settings → Close shop**
  • Wait 24 hours, retry registration

Reason: incompatible OKVED

Symptom: "activity type doesn't match the shop category".

Fix (IP):

  • Add OKVED codes to EGRIP: 62.09 (IT services), 90.03 (creative work), 93.29.9 (entertainment)
  • Done online through FTS, takes 5 days, free
  • After EGRIP data updates, resubmit the YooKassa application

For self-employed OKVED codes don't apply - check that Moy Nalog has the right activity category (IT, Content Creation, or similar).

Reason: bank account issues

Symptom: "account not suitable for payments", "account inactive".

Fix:

  • Verify it's an IP settlement account, not a personal current
  • Make sure the account opened at least 24h ago (sometimes needed for sync)
  • Order a fresh account-opening statement in the bank app and attach it

Reason: restricted region / country

Symptom: "service unavailable in the specified region".

Fix:

  • YooKassa only works with Russian residents. IP registered abroad won't work
  • If you're a Russian resident temporarily abroad - make sure your passport registration address is Russian

If rejected again

It often helps to call YooKassa support directly (number in the dashboard) - they explain exactly what's wrong and how to fix it. Email tends to give generic wording.

Backup plan

While the YooKassa issues are being resolved, connect crypto donations. No shop verification, your own wallet, money is accepted immediately. Not a replacement for YooKassa, but an extra channel meanwhile.
