Moving a YooKassa shop to live mode

A test shop only accepts fake payments and is highlighted red. Going live means accepting real money. Requires a separate request to YooKassa.

What you'll need

  • YooKassa shop connected to EchoTip (see the relevant guide)
  • At least one successful test payment
  • Correct shop requisites filled in the dashboard

Why test mode at all

YooKassa hands out a test Shop ID immediately - so you can verify the integration (donation flow, webhook, receipt) before real money moves. Test cards don't actually charge - only special numbers from the YooKassa docs are accepted.
1

Verify everything works in test

Before requesting live - run a test donation:

  • Open your EchoTip page (e.g. `echotip.app/u/yourname`)
  • Make a donation of any amount
  • On the payment page enter a test card: **5555 5555 5555 4477**, exp 12/30, CVV 123
  • Verify the donation appears in `/account/finance/history` and in the overlay (if connected to OBS)

Open the YooKassa dashboard

Sign in at yookassa.ru via Yandex ID, pick your shop.

3

Go to shop settings

Sidebar: Settings → About shop. This is where the data for the live review lives.

4

Fill all required fields

To get approved for live, the shop card must have:

  • **Full activity description** - what you're selling (stream donations)
  • **Refund policy** - terms of refund
  • **Customer support contacts** - email or Telegram
  • **Receipt requisites** - merchant name as shown to donors
YooKassa reviews each field manually. The more accurate the data, the faster the approval.
5

Submit the activation request

In Settings → Activation click Request activation. Provide:

  • Your EchoTip page link
  • Channel link on a streaming platform (Twitch, YouTube, VK Play)
  • Estimated monthly volume

6

Wait for approval

Review takes 1-3 business days. If anything needs fixing - they write back via email with comments. After approval:

  • The shop gets a live Shop ID
  • The red accent disappears from the EchoTip card
  • Real cards start working
7

Reconnect in EchoTip

After approval - in Finance → YooKassa click the three dots → Disconnect, then Connect YooKassa again. This is needed so EchoTip picks up new tokens with the live Shop ID.

Without reconnecting, EchoTip will keep hitting the test shop and every real donor will see an error.

Test after activation

Make a small real donation (10 RUB) to yourself - to confirm the money actually lands on your account. If something goes wrong - you can refund via the YooKassa dashboard.
